Nicole Clarke, PhD, MSM is an oncology translational medicine expert based in Frankfurt-area, Germany. Her scientific career began at The Johns Hopkins University and continued through her undergraduate studies at Princeton University, her medical and graduate school training at Stanford University School of Medicine, and her research fellowship at the Institut Pasteur in Paris, France.
Dr. Clarke spent nearly a decade as a Gates Millennium Scholar researching the processes and underlying genetic factors leading to human cancer, and she now works in close partnership with a cross-functional team of scientific and medical experts at BioNTech SE, with the collective goal of developing new therapies based on innovative, cutting-edge science for patients with advanced cancer.
Beyond her expertise in oncology, Dr. Clarke has worked as a clinical operations specialist at a multi-specialty community medical center. Her administration experience includes clinic flow optimization, electronic health record (EHR) system implementation, and developing protocols to improve operational efficiency. Before joining the translational medicine team at Boehringer Ingelheim, she was a part of Boehringer’s oncology Field-Based Medicine team in Boston, MA. Prior to that, she was an Associate Director of Research Development at The Advisory Board Company in Washington, DC.
On a personal note, the right side of her brain is excited by all things fine fabric and haute-couture. And, in terms of culinary preferences, she will rarely, if ever, decline an offer of chocolate.
